Buzz
When I think of you
there is magic in the air
there is suspense
there is excitement
there is safety
there is security
When I think of you
it’s like being a child
skipping along happily
with family and friends
in full costume
towards the entrance
of a Halloween carnival
on the school fairgrounds
It’s like here is where
all the hard work
went down day after day
yet, now it’s all changed
it’s dusk and there is a
buzz in the air
a silent hummmm
full of mystery and fun
When I think of you
you remind me of him
what little I remember
but yet it’s like you
pick up where he left off
and I am complete

I think of us
and how it could be
how it should be
I wish I could capture
your essence
and bottle it forever
I’d enter a time machine
back to my childhood
where I would let you out
to play with me
