I'm going down, down this dusty road. And they say it don't matter where you've been, only where you're going. I've got to put my head on strong, so time doesn't eat me away. And this is what I say.
*chorus*
Don't know where this hollow road will lead me, but I know I must fight to stay alive. So as long as you can find a way to be happy, that's all that matters to me. Gonna let my love go to the sea, because maybe it don't belong to me.
Just when I feel like fading, I listen to the music and it takes me to a special place. Can you feel my heart shake, when your love went astray. I wish I knew what to say, but my heart feels shattered in place.
**pick up speed/rythmn**
Tell me do you think I step out to be broken. You know I lose my trust with each and every time. My heart can't take the pain, when all I wanted was to love this time.
When life feels empty, it can make you feel estranged. In times we try, can't you feel the fire burning. Don't be surprised, how life can be re-arranged. Sometimes, sometimes it's what we've got to do. Now don't be afraid, when you feel me by your side. Your side, that's what I feel inside.
Tell me what's on your mind, you know I don't want to be unkind. No time to defray, my threads grow stronger everyday, everyday. I'm beginning to find myself along the way, you know I want to find my way.
(Outro)
I'm walking down the hollow road, but I know in time I will find my way. Don't be afraid, Don't be afraid. I want you by my side, your love's deep inside my heart. We'll stray from the hollow road, to walk along our own path.
Notes: Slow Accoustic Guitar start, then before the 3rd verse (tell me), pick up the speed/rythmn with Electric Guitar.
--this is running in my head, mind you, haven't played it with my guitar yet, but maybe in time I can get it down.....but for now, I need to get this song out.

Very cliche song; but that's what sells ;D
All relative and recognisable and in your face. All good!

Very cliche song; but that's what sells ;D
All relative and recognisable and in your face. All good! Umm, yeah I suppose those are the type that sells is true, but only if you decide to allow it to be sold. There's a difference between sharing your songs and selling your songs. Nothing wrong with either, but I'm more passionate about the sharing it and allowing others to feel it in their own ways. Josh thanks for your comments, I appreciate it. This isn't an "in your face" kind of song. It comes from a place of one's heart and soul, how they love and care for someone so deeply and all they can do is let them know how they feel and how they want to be by their side and want to turn from the hollow road of being alone and scared to step out because times in the past have haunted, how they want this person in their life, but can't force something that is not felt in a mutual way, and all one can do is let them know how they feel and how they want to walk down the path together down one same road, and how sometimes we have to set our love to the sea and see if it comes back to me, then you will feel what true love really is, and it doesn't mean the person let's go per say, but rather continues to be by their side no matter what their decision is, a form of acceptance of the "come what may," like acceptance of all living things. Does this make sense? Anyway, thank again.

This is such a sad piece. With a hopeful note at the end. :hugs: It is a sad piece for sure, because it feels like your heart is breaking when you are sharing and singing what's in your heart. And I agree with Anthony on how when you share from your heart and how it aches when others don't really let it show and wanting them to open up and let it show, I really truly undertand what it means and how it feels and have for such a long time. And yeah, with a hopeful note at the end, yes. How you feel this deep inside and is what you are hoping for, but at the same time as knowing how life can change. Love is much like the ocean waves, how they can roll on forever touching with every thing they are and how they always come back with the same feeling, even though the manner or way can be different, it's that essence and heart felt touch of when you find the physical form of your true love. It really is hard to describe into words the feeling and essence of this song, but hopefully you can begin to see and feel what I mean from what I shared with you and josh. The accoustic part is coming from the songbird of your soul, allowing its form and presence to become evident and the electric guitar change of rythmn signifies what you feel in your heart, singing from your heart, allowing its expression, passion and care come soaring out like truth be known, to never hide what you feel in your heart, especially when you want to follow your heart. So, thanks for sharing your comments, as I truly appreciate them very much.

It does make sense. I think everyone with a heart has been there, though. The Hollow Road's story needs to be told. Everyone has their own, I'm sure. Or at least will some day.
So perhaps "in your face" was an incorrect description...
What "sells" are also stories people relate to, so they are absorbed when they are "shared" amongst peers rather than "sold" amongst people that might forget about it in 4 months time when the next big thing comes along.
I'm in business mode tho because I'm launching my band now and well, we want to "sell" as well as "share". It is in our hearts enough that we want to share it, so why not make something out of it if it is something we all equally love and would gladly give the world to persue.

This is such a sad piece. With a hopeful note at the end. :hugs: It is a sad piece for sure, because it feels like your heart is breaking when you are sharing and singing what's in your heart. As in ... Can you feel my heart shake, when your love went astray. I wish I knew what to say, but my heart feels shattered in place.
I know exactly what that feels like. And I agree with Anthony on how when you share from your heart and how it aches when others don't really let it show and wanting them to open up and let it show, I really truly undertand what it means and how it feels and have for such a long time. I understand that too, but I've also experienced the other side of that thought, where you 'show' or demonstrate that openess and well ... things get twisted by others and a beautiful experience starts to turn ... Ah touch and the smell that is associated with it ... two very powerful yet simple things ... When a person is left without it, it can make their outer shell grow harder. Wanting to give a person their freedom for their happiness while craving your own inner happiness, can become a contradiction in terms. Such a lovely thought. So, thanks for sharing your comments, as I truly appreciate them very much.
