I have talked to several people who loved the show. It has a lot to do with your own attitude as a concertgoer. I assure you the band gives so much energy and love in each show and truly loves the fans. Thanks to those posters who went to the show and shared their experiences with the rest of us here! Hooray for all of you!

They have never been that huge into the fan interaction thing. I have always noticed that they don't say very many things to the crowd at all. They might introduce a song, and every once in a while Flea might yell out some political opinion, but besides that there is typically very little interaction.
I loved the show. As a die hard fan, I didn't notice anything being off. I was in section 121, very close and to the left of the stage. I thought the interaction between Flea, John, and Chad was phenomenal. Its great to see how each one of them gets a turn at leading the band. Sometimes they will look to Chad for cues. Other times they are all looking at what Flea is about to do, and the same goes for John.

Hooray for all of you! Over 16 years of seeing, hearing and witnessing this band in person last night's show was a bit odd. Everyone seemed on but Anthony, and like we all know, the guy can be off some nights. John was in top form though and so was Flea. I never expect much crowd interaction anymore. The band comes with one purpose: to play music. I'd rather hear them jam than talk to the crowd. C'mon Girl just seemed to come out of nowhere. It took 3 minutes of talking/arguing (who knows) and Anthony still asking what the problem was and then let's play to get the song going. It almost seemed to me (and I was writing the songs down as they played and was shocked when that came so early) that it wasn't supposed to be played then. Greatest setlist ever? Very far from it. Best i've seen or heard the Peppers? not really except for maybe John, who showed up and rocked as hard as possible. I did however get my money's worth. I knew what to expect going in. The sets these days are more for the newbies than the old school fan but even this old school fan can spot a bump in the road when he sees it.

My friend who went to the show is actually on the phone with me right now says as Jason had 100 times that the band was indeed off, and Anthony might have been in a crappy mood, but he said if there was tension then it was between the entire band too because the same type of conversing going on between Anthony and John had happened with John and Flea apparently too. I'm telling you what he is telling me, I didn't see this for myself. He also said that Anthony could have said more, but Anthony is Anthony and being this is my friends 9th show of this tour alone, he knows what the band can be like at times. But he did say whatever was going on last night seemed to have died down towards the end of the show and at that point they seemed ok with eachother. Even with that said, to him there was some oddities. He still believes Anthonys heart wasn't into it last night at all. He said John did make up for anything going on though because he played amazing.

That's so sad to hear it. I'm so disappointed with them cuz of all this craps what happening on their concerts. First at all this newbies which doesn't know classics and also RHCP are not in mood anymore.. Shall we need to worry? Well.. set was OK but it's not OK if they're not in mood to this normal. sorry for english

For anyone that has been following them we all know that each Peppers has had their hissy fits on and off stage before. Anytime I see or hear John and Anthony like this it does worry me because it takes me back to the BSSM era when then no longer talked with each other. I'm interested to see how they are tonight, especially Anthony.

Its the way it goes with touring/living with someone for soo long. Friends fight, family fights but thats a good thing cuz it makes them strong and yeah the Peppers have been threw hell in the pass soo its all good

It would worry me if they were fighting like they were back then, but the state of minds they are all in now is different, and like SAYWHAT said, brothers do fight and theyre around eachother enough to but heads. It seems like though one problem they do have is musical tension, and not agreeing on what to play or whatever the case may have been could have caused an arguement, especially if they couldnt get it right for 3 minutes.

Remember though that the SA almost didn't happen because Flea and John were not getting along. If anyone in the band would even bring them down because of their attitude it would be Anthony.

I noticed on a few boards, including non-Peppers boards discussions of the Anthony/John incident. Some say arguing, some say talking. We will never truly know what happened.

ive seen them 17 times - and im always on the barrier with a good view of proceedings. ocassionally yes, there is - shall we say - an 'atmosphere' it just sounds like it could one of those shows. various factors come into play. from something simple like tech issues - to something more complicated like a midlife crisis being played out or good old-fashioned ennui

The deal with the new fans was very noticiable at the Calgary show as well.

The deal with the new fans was very noticiable at the Calgary show as well. Sadly as the band's popularity continues to grow the more newbies there will be. I still remember in 1995 when alot of kids came out for Silverchair and seemed to leave once the Peppers came on. The more people that get into good music like this the better. I'd rather them go see the Peppers, even if they don't know more than the hits than see some of the other crap out there these days.

This was posted on You Tube in the comment area for a clip of the DC show: yea they were arguing, if you heard john at one point said, "lets just play the song man" my friend who works with CSC (the security people) said john and anthony were arguing about something for a while before the concert started www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ufaOKIrtsk
