It use to be a land Where crystals dotted the black skies But now's a crimson haze It use to be a time when we were protected from the eyes But now we feel it's glaze It use to be a story When things were goin' jack and jory But those were childish days 'Cause now we feel a wind Sweepin' underneath our skin To show us cloudy days...
This is the comin' of age This is the comin' of age This is the comin' of age This is the comin of...
Inflicted to the beat That dances with it's skeleton feet Jamblin' up the road We're gonna feel the burn When it finally comes our turn To burden on the load See, why did no one tell me That baby, I was never failte I was to turn away Well now ya saw the worst of me I guess the rest of history Get ready for rage...
This is the comin' of age This is the comin' of age This is the comin' of age This is the comin of...
When ya hear a thunder rollin' And ya don't know which way you're goin It's time to cage You let your rainbow from your coat You showed it to a pack of ghosts Who scared it grey Friends and enemies Well they're all just frienemies to me You see I'm on a stage To share the tale too young to tell But now that I've came back from hell This was my comin' of age...
This was my comin of age...

Mark's back!
So you came of age...
You're off the drugs??
Like the little wing above me I struggle to understand the metaphoric references here. Enlighten us.

Hi Mark!
As usual, you force me think.
"When things were goin' jack and jory"
Is that a local figure of speech? I have never heard it before?

It's a British thing, just means when things were going good, life is fine etc. Whole songs based around regret and stupid things you did when younger and when the comin of age strikes you grow and move on.

Oh, okay that does make sense now... you're really good with metaphors.. it's the best way to get across the 'feeling' in a writing.. i used to be good with metaphor, but i'm more direct these days.. guess i changed some too! Thanks 'splaning and good writing!
