Steff, this is interesting. I prefer to hear GUYS' opinion on the last leg of the European tour, because for girls it's always so OMFGAMAZINGGREAT, even though it's obvious that the band was not into it. 06th December 2006, Vienna, Austria - Stadhtalle01. Intro Jam 02. Can't Stop 03. Dani California 04. Otherside 05. Charlie 06. Havana Affair 07. Desecration Smile 08. Throw Away Your Television 09. Blood Sugar Sex Magik 10. Snow ((Hey Oh)) 11. How Can I Tell You (John) 12. Tell Me Baby 13. Stadium Arcadium 14. London Calling (Intro) / Right On Time 15. C'mon Girl 16. Nevermind (tease) 17. Californication 18. By The Way ENCORE 19. Drum Solo 20. Under The Bridge 21. Sir Psycho Sexy 22. They're Red Hot Longest show I've been to and a very embarrassing first time for me (LOL, I usually hear people say this about some other first times). Fenderjaguar screwed up the line we were supposed to wait in and convinced me we were waiting in the right line and when we realised that the line was only reserved for people who bought virtual tickets via text messages, about 5 000 people got inside already. My camera was taken away from me because it was "too good"...however, I grabbed a place in the front row and I'm still not realising how the heck I managed to. Was far right, literally the last person on the barrier and people closest to me were two adorable little children. The boy was around 6, the girl was around 11 years old and then I spotted "some young looking guy" setting up cables one metre in front of me at the other side of the barrier. It turned out to be John. Then he went on the stage to mess with some speakers and, suddenly, while the support band was playing, he jumped on the stage and it was sooo mad! After that, he was warming up at the very same place.
It turned out not to be exceptionally good place for the RHCP show itself, but damn, it was good and the absolute highlight was the outro to C'mon Girl transiting into a shortish version of Nevermind! Havana Affair was ace as well; and Stadium Arcadium and How Can I Tell You which John performed on acoustic made me cry. Many others were crying as well. And many people were passing out because it was way too warm inside. I think I saw Herbert (is that his name?) pulled out and taken outside. Oh, and Chad was in an amazing mood, he threw bits of his drum kit in the audience twice and, at the end of the show, he put
After the show, I was hanging out with three Austrian girls and a nice Spanish girl called Pilar, known as funkie on the official BBS.
One local girl is still convincing me that I have not gone to this show and that it lasted one hour and twenty minutes. I think she has a problem!07th December 2006, Vienna, Austria - Stadhtalle01. Intro Jam 02. Can't Stop 03. Dani California 04. Scar Tissue 05. Charlie 06. Fortune Faded 07. Desecration Smile 08. Parallel Universe 09. Snow ((Hey Oh)) 10. Blue Sunday (John) 11. 21st Century 12. Blood Sugar Sex Magik 13. Me And My Friends 14. Don't Forget Me 15. C'mon Girl 16. Californication 17. By The Way ENCORE 18. Drum Solo 19. I'm Eighteen (John & Chad) 20. Soul To Squeeze 21. Sir Psycho Sexy 22. They're Red Hot I believe my signature says enough? I believe my and Šime's posts in this thread say enough? We were in the first row with our Russian friend Dmitri, right in front of John and we literaly got every single little vibration of happiness coming from him. I believe that not being able to talk without mentioning 07th December at least once says enough. I love this day, I love this show, I will forever be thankful that I was there, the best day of my entire life, by far. And seven seconds that changed my general views of life and people; but not on someone who gifted me those seven seconds.
Highlight of the show'd be Scar Tissue and the banner moment, followed by an unusually fast version of Desecration Smile, very sensual Blue Sunday (R.I.P. Jim Morrison, but your voice was nowhere near John's!), psycho-kitten dance during Soul To Squeeze and the setlist changed at the last moment. Also, meeting up with Henrik, Nadja, Brian, Claudia, Tiny & Tony, Ena and Jun was unforgettable.
But my hero of the day would be Šime. If you don't have a friend like him, ask him for a hair from his head and clone him. Everyone needs such a kind and helpful person in their lives.
And my hero of the 2006 tour leg would be Henrik, because he told me where to get tickets. Also Fenderjaguar because she was taking care of me (literally!), otherwise under such strong and emotional impressions after the shows, a car would run me over or something. These are things I'll always be thankful for.26th June 2007, Indjija, Serbia (stupid forum won't let me type it properly...) - Green Fest01. Intro Jam 02. Can't Stop 03. Dani California 04. Scar Tissue 05. Charlie 06. Readymade 07. Throw Away Your Television / Don't You Ever Leave 08. Snow ((Hey Oh)) 09. S.O.S (John) 10. Higher Ground 11. She's Only 18 12. London Calling (Intro) / Right On Time 13. Don't Forget Me 14. Californication 15. Unknown (Flea) 16. By The Way ENCORE 17. Give It Away Mixed feelings here. Unclear story behind what was supposed to be the event of the year. The setlist was amazing, even though C'mon Girl, Under The Bridge, pre-Cali jam and a long outro jam were dropped. I give props to Chad for yet again being in an amazing mood, to Flea for making up a very silly song out of blue when he saw that John was definitely in a weird state of body and mind, to Anthony for trying his best to lower down his ego (which was Mount Everest - sized in Vienna!) and make a great contact with the audience. And I give props to John for having been able to play while he was literally tottering, for having heard my request and tried to play YPIGTABOF, for giving us the sweetest confused smile when he saw how many people were there and gracing us with a really wild intro to the show and a heavenly 1 minute outro to Don't Forget Me. An artist until the very last drop of strength. Fac simile.
The highlight? Higher Ground. 100 000 people jumping and chasing away the storm clouds with the unviversal scream of happiness. People from countries that used to be one country. People who have been waiting there for a sickening amount of time, who were trapped by barriers without being given any water or food from noon to three in the afternoon. And we forgot all that when we were jumping to that song. Also SOS, my second cover of choice, which we all sang along and followed with supporting ovations.
My hero of the day? Tony from the RHCP crew because he urged the organisators of the event to give us cold water. And theotherfiona, because even though she doesn't have children, she was like a mother to the rest of us. Also serendpity, because she was the first person to ask if we were all in one piece, on two different message boards and that's a reaction I never expected from someone who barely knows us.
My heroes of the year? Local ER. Won't elaborate, those who know, they know.
And RAG because she's just mad and she became a local legend that day *whew* I love my shows too much.

Thanks, Iva. Well, it's true the shows of the last leg of the European tour weren't that good, compared with the previous ones. It might have looked different if it was your first show, but to me (and others) who had been to the RHCP before they really appeared tired and not that "rocking". We know they can do better. And they usually do.

So, here are my thoughts on the respective shows a little more detailed: The Berlin 2003 show, as I said, was my first and my expectations therefore really high. I don't remember that much about that show (for instance, I cannot remember the KISS cover, at all), but I do know that it was very short. Like 80 minutes, I think. And I missed Californication in the set, that day. But in retrospect it was a really good set, with If You Have to Ask and BSSM and stuff. A good show for the start. I can't rave enough about the Berlin show in 2006. I was in a fucking great mood the whole day. Not only did I pass my driver's licence test in the morning, I was also going to see my favourite band again! And it really was beautiful! You could sense the band loved the evening, too. The crowd was great, as well. I met teeja and KiKaPiXiE and Henrik (somehow ). The setlist was great, a lot of jams (especially the never- ending last jam). It was amazing. Flea appeared amazed as well. You know he usually does his little thank you speech and that night he talked about what a beautiful day it is and how he loved the fact that nobody was in a bad mood, nobody had to work, nobody was at school, but we were all gathered here and enjoying ourselves and sharing our love for music. I will never forget it. Beautiful. The Frankfurt show was something special again, thanks to the Schnitzel stuff around it. I met my man Dirk, plus Debbie (hugs to you), Henrik and very very briefly Barbs and Frankie. It seemed a little unreal meeting all those fellow OneHotGlobians. ;D And me, Dirk and Henrik, you know, the handsomeness that was created by the three of us... ;D The show was good, but as I said, screw the audience. You know Mike Watt was opening for the Chili Peppers that night. It wasn't much appreciated. And on top of that, when Flea himself thanked them for rocking the crowd booed again. And then it felt like it had affected the band's mood. In a bad way. But it was a good show. And now for Dresden; I am still dissapointed. It could have been a beautiful night again but it was not meant to be. They seemed really tired and not into it. Maybe it's just me but one example that, I think, showed it quite well, was the drum part during Hump de Bump when Flea and Josh joined Chad in drumming. Flea was not like I expected him to be in such a situation. He seemed to be like "Well, okay, now let's get this stuff done." It was not the usual story, where he'd probably go like "Woooohoooo! Yeah, let's fucking do this! I'm gonna bang the shit out of these drums! Yeeeeeaaaah! Haha!!!! Cause I'm the Fleameister!!! Bring it on!". Whatever. I was accompanied by my girlfriend and it was her first RHCP show, so after it was over I told her that they usually are a lot better. She shouldn't receive the wrong impression. Especially since they were even less communicative than usual and it was such a short show. Maybe it had to do with the thunder-storm warning (and indeed, it did start raining pretty hard just minutes after the band had left the stage), but, however, to me it was a disappointment. Even though I had witnessed eight songs that night, I had not seen live before.

June 15th, 2006.: Berlin, Wuhlheide01. Intro Jam 02. Can't Stop 03. Dani California 04. Scar Tissue 05. Charlie 06. Throw Away Your TV / Don't You Ever Leave 07. Torture Me 08. Fortune Faded 09. How Deep Is Your Love 10. Me And My Friends 11. Snow ((Hey Oh)) 12. Hump De Bump 13. Right On Time 14. Strip My Mind 15. Don't Forget Me 16. Tell Me Baby 17. Californication 18. What Is Soul 19. Magic Johnson (Intro Jam) 20. By The Way Encore: 21. Soul To Squeeze 22. You're Gonna Get Yours / Give It Away 23. Thursday Night In Berlin Best show ever! Beautiful day, beautiful audience, beautiful atmosphere! They were so into it and enjoying themselves! And there was that little 30min- jam in the end I couldn't agree more, Steff. That Thursday night in Berlin I was on the concert of The Chili Peppers for the 1st time. I only wish that Anthony paid more attention to the audience in generally. I espected much more but I was unexperienced and afterwards I came to conclusion that he was actually paying attention on that concert. As Anthony said, they can't do much when the crowd goes insane. I was in the 2nd row (crowd WAS insane and wasn't paying much attention to one 1.62cm tall girl ;D in the front row) but I managed to stay alive and to see and hear my lovely Peppers and that's all that matters. ;D November 30th, 2006.: Milan"Harry Lewinski birthday gig" Support: 19:43-20:30 Begin: 21:14 01 Intro 02 Can´t Stop 03 Dani California 04 Scar Tissue 05 Jam 06 Charlie 07 Fortune Faded 08 Readymade 09 Funky Monks 10 Parallel Universe 11 John solo: Runaway (del shannon) 12 Snow ((Hey Oh)) 13 Higher Ground 14 Wet Sand 15 Me and my Friends 16 Don´t Forget Me 17 Warlocks 18 Intro 19 Californication 20 By the Way (22:44) 21 Chad in Materazzi jersey: drum solo 22 Under the Bridge 23 Sir Psycho Sexy 24 They´re Red Hot End: 23:03 It was amazing, and it got better when I heard what were they playing. The best setlist ever. I was honoured to be there. And I managed to be in the 1st line We threw a tiny pieces of paper during SNOW and John looked at us and react with a beautiful smile. I couldn't believe but two of my friends got setlist, one John's pick and me Chad's sticker! John Frusciante was a star of the concert in Milan. June 26th, 2007.: Indjija, Serbia01 Intro 02 Can't stop 03 Dani California 04 Scar Tissue 05 Short jam 06 Charlie 07 Readymade 08 Throw Away Your Television w/ Don't You Ever Leave 09 Snow 10 SOS (John's solo) 11 Higher Ground 12 She's Only 18 13 London Calling intro + Right On Time 14 Don't Forget Me 15 Californication 16.Flea solo (unknown) 17 By The Way Encore: 18 Give It Away I was there too, in the 1st row, right in front of Anthony, again ;D And the 100 000 people were behind me Anthony and Flea were in the the great mood, they really were! And for me to see Anthony being active on stage and with audience was really amazing! In one moment I was really disappointed with the whole show cause I couldn't believe how could they leave so fast, just when the crowd started to enjoy them. But in the end, I remembered that I really enjoyed it even though it was so short! It was a shock for me at first and later I started thinking with my own head and realized that I have to respect that John, among problems he had, even played so many songs. And it gets better and better... June 28th, 2007.: UdineIntro Trouble with guitar 01 Can't Stop 02 Dani California 03 Under the Bridge 04 Jam- 21st Century 05 Jam- Parallel Universe 06 John solo: Maybe 07 Snow (Hey Oh) - with Josh 08 Get on Top 09 Emit Remmus - with Josh Baby Appeal Tease 10 C'mon girl - was it with Josh? 11 So Much I - with Josh 12 Me and my Friends 13 Jam - Hump de Bump (with Josh, Flea and Cris on drums) 15 By the Way ENCORE Chad drum solo Flea trumpet 16 I Could Have Lied 17 Sir Psycho Sexy 18 They're Red Hot The setlist was amazing, I managed to be in the 1st row with Teeja, Anthony saw our banner (we drew a big baby with Anths tattoos on it, above the baby it was written BABY APPEAL and below the baby CONGRATS), photographers were filming our banner and us all the time, all of the Chili Peppers were in the fucking great awesome mood, they talked with audience and really entertained us, Wu Tang Clan was awesome too, they set the audience on fire! When the night came to an end I really didn't want it to be over cause it was so amazing and magnificent being caught in that RHCP moment filled with so much energy and love!!

^^ And it's people like you, both of you (there are others, but you're both among them) who remind me that it's all worthwhile. Also, Kikapixie, glad someone at last said that Anthony was extremely nice to fans at Green Fest. Same goes for what you said about respect for John. Cheers, lady, you rule, in case I didn't tell you that when our brains were blowing up from the heat over there or the day after when we were all pitying ourselves.

He did pay attention to a fellow in the audience. That guy who requested Hump de Bump and Anthony told him that they didn't have it in the set but would maybe play a short part of it. The crowd was really going berserk during the first songs. I only survived the Intro Jam plus Can't Stop and then I already fled to the side. What a great show. You could tell they loved it too. I can only try to imagine how crazy that Indija show must have been for you two. ;D

That's why I said I espected much more but I was unexperienced and had no RHCP shows behind me and I thought they are a little bit crazier live so afterwards I came to conclusion that he WAS actually paying attention on that concert. That fellow was in front of me and Anthony taught that we, the whole group (even though I wasn't part of that group) wanted to hear Hump de Bump so he looked at all of us (a few people around that boy) while he was referring to that boy. I was in seventh heaven. ;D
