OMG OMG OMG! PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES! who cares for music, ant the swan took his wet tshirt off they don't give a damn about south america, so why should I care that much about their concerts?! maybe I'm being too selfish, I don't know. But sometimes those things make me feel really mad Don't say that. I understand how you feel, but they already came here a lot of times: 1993, 1999, 2001 and 2002. There are some countries even in europe where they haven't played yet. It's not up just to the band. And don't forget the problem we are having here lately, concerning air safety. I really think this may be something that is keeping them from coming.

( www.scotsman.com ) RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS *** HAMPDEN STADIUM, GLASGOW DAVID POLLOCK FOR a band with such a dedicated worldwide following, there's something just that little bit unsatisfying about the Red Hot Chili Peppers arena experience. Perhaps it's the way many of their songs sound as if they've resolved themselves from jam sessions, the presence of a good strong rhythm obscuring Anthony Kiedis' often nonsensical vocals. Or it might be the way that, for a band who have been operating at a reasonable level of fame for two decades and more, much of the set they play only resonates with the hardcore fans who come with a working knowledge of all their album tracks. To put it in perspective, other big-draw stadium bands like U2 or Oasis will emerge armed with a repertoire of tracks which are at least predominantly widely known. Whether or not everyone likes every single song - and that's pretty much an impossibility - there will at least be a roar of acknowledgement within the first few bars of each. For the majority of casual fans who make up a crowd like this, all they want to hear is a procession of tracks they're familiar with. In the Chilis' case, six or seven well-known and popular songs out of around a dozen and a half seems a little light. It's a shame, because the bill that they assembled around them was a strong one. Appearing at a time when many of the evening's attendees might have still been finishing their dinner, Sheffield's Reverend and the Makers - led by sometime Arctic Monkeys mentor Jon McClure - were appearing here on a stage much bigger than they're used to, but still their astute, blokeish anthems went down well with the early-arriving crowd. Scotland's Biffy Clyro, meanwhile, are a band who have recently ditched their more impenetrable sound of old, aiming instead straight at the heart of a confident kind of epic rock tunefulness. Although many of the crowd were still milling slowly into position at this point, the Biffys went down a storm, and it's not entirely unreasonable to expect they might be the headliners of a gig like this themselves one day. After such quality to get us in the mood, however, the Chili Peppers took to the stage with a minimum of fuss or fanfare. Guitarist John Frusciante, drummer Chad Smith and bassist Michael "Flea" Balzary - the joker of the group, in crimson jeans and nothing else - ambled off the mark with one of the interminable instrumental jams which would punctuate the evening. This one, though, looked to have been merely a classic false start, because before long the familiar, exciting build-up to one of their most enduring songs could be heard through the squall. As Kiedis bounded on, the coruscating guitar intro to Can't Stop pierced through the early evening air. A song with a nigh-perfect opening, it promised nothing but excitement to follow for the yelling, bouncing crowd. The first few songs actually delivered in that sense. Dani California is a pleasingly memorable song, and - although the video-screen iconography of slo-mo surfers and monochrome West Coast freeways was somewhat corny - it does describe the milieu the band come from well. Then the reflective Scar Tissue, the somewhat show-offy blues of Readymade, and their concise, punchy call to Throw Away Your Television offered a sharp balance between the old and the new. It was with the recent single Snow (Hey Oh) that the lull began. The song itself is Chilis-by-numbers, with Kiedis' semi-rapped vocals a nadir of limited style over substance. From there, the next half-dozen songs were a collection of album tracks which, try as they might, didn't rouse the vast majority of the crowd beyond anything more than polite applause. Only the overt suggestiveness of Get On Top raised the bar slightly. Things only recovered with the song Californication - a popular but mid-paced track - although by then the evening was almost over. After By The Way, a song which returned us to the level of excitement and expectancy we'd started with, they were off and preparing for the encore. Flea, as is customary at Chili Peppers gigs, returned to give us an incongruous trumpet solo, with Smith filling the gaps on drums and starting an impromptu chorus of We Will Rock You. With Kiedis unusually quiet and inanimate, Flea's call for "peace and love" and "no more war" was about all we got in terms of interaction, although - after C'mon Girl, another new and relatively unknown track from the Stadium Arcadium album - the singer did point out "if you're 17, this song was written before you were born". "This song" was Give It Away, an alternative funk classic from the Chilis' early days, and one of the night's brightest moments. But one more extended jam for good measure later they were away, leaving a content but perhaps not completely satisfied crowd to ponder over each of the big hits that inexplicably failed to make the setlist.

( www.eveningtimes.co.uk ) Red hot gig REVIEW: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hampden AFTER 24 years in the music biz, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, proved they're still scorching at Hampden Park last night. They played an epic, career-spanning set, featuring hits like Give It Away, Californication and Can't Stop. Opening with an instrumental jam, the Chilis took every opportunity to show off their virtuoso-like musicianship, with John Frusciante extracting never before heard noises from his guitar. They then moved on to 2002's Can't Stop, before Dani California - first single from their aptly-named latest album. advertisement Singer Anthony Kiedis managed to look both resplendent and ridiculous at once in a fetching shirt, tie, waistcoat and, er, shorts combo, while bassist Flea went with the familiar topless look. The band's set also included less familiar songs like Get On Top - a mindless but brilliant funk workout, which saw Kiedis leaping around the stage like a man possessed. Meanwhile, Frusciante dropped to his knees for yet another over the top solo - like the reincarnation of Jimi Hendrix, the riffs just kept coming. After another lengthy jam, Californication was greeted with huge applause. They finished with By The Way, an enormous, bass-driven rocker, but returned to play another jam, and a completely unnecessary trumpet solo before their 1991 hit Give It Away. "If you're 17, this was written when you were born," said Flea, before unleashing one of the world's funkiest basslines - while the audience in turn unleashed some heinous dancing. Bouncing around the stage, the Chili Peppers looked like a band at the peak of their powers with enough punch to stay the kings of punk-funk for a long while yet. Publication date 24/08/07

those reviews seem prety fair.......
but i dont think our south american friends hav much to worry about its seems unlikely that they will play there this year but it is very likely that they play early next year and since they will have more time on their hands they may even do smaller venues and more shows.....so my latinos dont worry they will end up doing some stadium arcadium shows there some time soon just not year......a very similar thing happened when U2's edge had a very ill daughter they ended up touring 6 months after the end of the rest of the tour and they even added extra shows as a way of apologising.....SO DONT WORRY MATES

And the now traditional picture of me and my, me and my, me and my friends: It was such and AMAZING show. For some reason I recovered that incredible feeling when the band starts and my heart was coming out of my chest, such an intense feeling of rapture, I was glowing and loving the little monkey man coming jumping to the chords of can't stop. The reason perhaps was because we rested a lot, we came to the venue so late after a looong breakfast and relaxing time. BUT nevertheless we made it to the front row. I met this boy in Germany who told me and Frank (my show mate) belong there because of the love we have for the band and never bigger truth was spoken. We just ended up smack bang in the front , just opposite AK, in spite of me making an amateur mistake and running to the barrier behind the golden circle. By the time the second band was in the middle of their act, I was already ON the barrier IN the middle, like always ;D. I was in a bit of a shock for a while due to that fact. And then I was just glowing. AK talked to me ;D. Just as soon as he finished "Can't stop" he explored the front row and as soon as he saw me he smiled and kept holding eye contact , and then looked away and then smiled again and then I smiled and I think he wasn't sure what to say, till he finally looked me dead in the eyes and said "you're not trying to cast a spell on me are you?" and I said "No" and he said "Thank you. I needed to know before I get on with the show". I don't know what the fuck he meant but that kept me grinning the whole night. ;D. Then we made the occasional eye contact during "She's only 18". It was great. Does anybody have a recording of the show? I would really really really really really appreciate it.
