Two more things:
The show was most likely recorded for TV.
The weather conditions on the day of the show were so bad in the whole country that, only in Beograd (the capital, where I live), 18 people died in car accidents. Nobody died at the show or anywhere near, luckily. Now, THAT would have been a tragedy, this isn't.

They had never played anywhere in the southeastern Europe, actually. Hungary isn't considered to be this part of the continent and that was the closest they were, in the Dave Navarro days in 1996... ...when the show lasted 45 minutes.

I returned home few hours ago and now I have some energy left to write an info. I send a message after the show to johnflea and, as I can see, most of you understood wrong what he wrote here. I 'll start from the beginning... I came to the venue at 11 am and joined Iva (Supersonic Squirell) and her friends who were already standing in the queue. The gates were opened at 3 pm and I menaged to enter with the first group of people. So I had the oportunity to choose my place in the front row. Like always I took a place right in front of John. The festival started at 5 pm and the organisation was great because any of 4 bands that were playing before RHCP weren't late. RHCP opened around 9.45 pm. They opened with an amazing intro in which John showed an amount of energy that I have never seen before. The show was really great and guys were at their best, especially Anthony who seemed very happy to play in Serbia in front of so many people. He thanked us all for coming to the show right after the second song. Then after Snow John changed his behaviour. He wasn't enthusiastic anymore, he held his head with his hand for few seconds, than he had a discussion with Flea, and he didn't sang his part in the first chorus of Californication. It was obvious he wasn't ok but he didn't cancel the show. He just became more reserved and spent most of his time playing near Chad and not in front of his mic. I could feel that he wasn't enjoying the show anymore and that reflected on the atmosphere in the band. In the end crowd felt that and they were a bit dissapointed. After all I was very sad also but not because the set was shorter than average one. I was very worried about John and that is still bothering me. I know that this was the frist show for most of the crowd there and they expected more but we couldn't expect more from them because they weren't at their best during the whole show. John is just a human and he has his problems and bad days just like we do. Too bad that happened during this show. Now I'm going to Udine without big expectations, I just hope they will all feel fine because that is the most important thing.

WOW IVA! WHAT A PICTURE! WHAT BRIGHTNESS! :ave :ave I hope they will make a great show in Udine, and hopefully they will see my/our transparents Thank you so much, the rest will be pretty much similar. I am impressed with my new camera and I'm recommending it to everyone: it's a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3. And it got soaking wet, so did all the memory cards but one, yet it survived! I hope they see the banners too. The crowd has to be less wild and cooperative, so you can actually hang them. I saw KikaPixie's banner and I absolutely loved it, hope Anthony sees it in Udine. Still, I am concerned, since I noticed bad tension and stuff at the 5 concerts I went to last Summer and it is stilll going on. I really feel sorry for everyone that feels disapointed in this concert, or any concert, and yeah, I do think it matters that it has been a long time since they played in an area. The last thing made many people for whom this was the first-ever RHCP show pessimistic, that's for sure...I saw people from faraway places there, like USA and Israel, and three of the people from my little gang were from Ireland, Germany and Austria. But one can't change that. Some more photos: Anthony, at the edge of the stage, singing the beginning of By The Way: Josh, enjoying Kasabian: More John: This was the moment when I think John started feeling dizzy. He first put his finger under his nose as if he was feeling that strange pressure inside and then he moved it towards his forehead.

Great pics and reviews, Iva. It seems the concert was fine, with some problems, which can happen. But everyone is making such a big deal out of it. It amazes me how negative news spread as fast and big as this one did. You should see the comments about this incident in a brazilian forum. When it's something good, it does not get that far. It really makes me sad.

We were a bit further from the stage but still close enough to see them It's not true that nobody knew the text but around me only me and my boyfriend knew the songs from SA (readymade, charlie, she's only 18...). The public was the most excited when they started playing BTW. I was very dissapointed that they didn't jam at all and they had a poor encore. And because of "The Bottle" incident they probably wont come back at all

Exactly how many people were there at the festival? Iva mentioned a 100 000 or is that just by mean sof expression?
Someone posted this on the BBS (translated from a Serbian site) and I find it a rather vague explanation:
the peppers say that they are sorry, because they werent informed about greatness of that concert, they thought that they are going to play infront of a few thousand people.. they said that in the half of the show Anthony got sick, thats time when John startet to play S.o.S.and others to improvise...he got a litlle better and the went on,but they realised that they dont have the strenght to play for 2 hours.they are truely sorry, and they say if the organisation was better it would not be like that.they couldnt even hear themselfes because the crowd was to loud, tehnical support was lame..
this news came from Udine...
I mean, all the people present at the concert were obviously talking about John, not about Anthony..
In response to "sillydolphin": I must say I didn't notice any tension in the band at any of the concerts I went to, last summer or now. Nijmegen was only 3 days ago and it was a good show, not much interaction with the audience no, but it was good and they all looked fine.

John is a professional, if he was disgusted about something, there was probably a good reason for it. If there was band tension, tensions happen when people spend a lot of time together, just like in a family. These tensions don't always happen because I've seen shows that they had tension and ones where they were just fine. Whatever it is, let's not jump on John and worry he is going back to 90's John because John has his moods and gets angry when things don't go right.

Thanks, Hump de Bump Johnflea, that's a good one, hope he sees it! I have many papers from yesterday and yes, there were 100 000 people. It is hard to control such a HUGE bunch of people. You should have seen them all run to the pit to grab place, it was like Woodstock!

All, I am seriously worried these four beautiful men are wearing themselves out into burn-out, perhaps they have toured too long, having had too many commitments in too little time. All I want for them is to feel well and happy with whatever it is they choose to do, and not only for me but also for them to be able to have the time and energy to enjoy every moment of it. Seriously, right now I feel very, very, very worried for their own wellbeing.

the setlist is missing under the bridge TAYT snow she's only 18 john solo abba SOS charlie don't forget me readymade right on time There was no Under The Bridge. I think this would be correct order: 01 Intro 02 Can't stop 03 Dani California 04 Scar Tissue 05 Short jam 06 Charlie 07 Readymade */AK said it was a song about baby bottoms ;D/* 08 Throw Away Your Television w/ Don't You Ever Leave */John tries to sing a solo song but gives up/* 09 Snow 10 SOS (John's solo) 11 She's Only 18 12 Higher Ground */FREAKING AMAZING!/* 13 Flea solo 14 Right On Time 15 Don't Forget Me */Flea started before John and it sounded as if he was about to play some other song and ended after him as well, but John did a fantastic outro/* 16 Californication 17 By The Way Encore: 18 Give It Away */Finally! Third show I went to and I finally heard it..with Higher Ground, the best song for the crowd, IMHO/* This is the setlist that was shortened: img504.imageshack.us/my.php?image=la1aa9ce81ff529c592046dnf4.jpgObviously, C'Mon Girl and Under The Bridge were stripped off the setlist because of the horrible weather.

they werent told about the enormity of the show??? i cant wait to see any tv footage of this show.......ive seen some stuff on some serbian sites but i cant read the language.....it might seem to be more of a coldplay performance than a RHCP one but im curious to see how rowdy 100 000 can possibly get.......was that why they never went back to moscow after playing to 200 000....i have video of that show and you can barely hear the band over the crowd personally i think this has been blown up much more than it deserves to be.......nothing next to guns n roses shows.......ill be sure to put this on the stadium arcadium tour page on wikipedia i myself have never toured the world playing music...but i really dont see how the boys are fatigued....the longest leg of their tour has been three weeks and every other time they go home after two weeks.....i know the next few weeks are very much jam packed but they have just come of a 2 week break after japan which was after a month break after coachella. they hav been doing this their whole lives and fatigue i really dont see as an excuse (especially from the youngest member) there excuse should be that they are 'human' not Gods as 99% of the EXIT crowd perceived them to be i recommend they come back to down to australia and get refreshed supersonic........did you have a genuinely good time???

they werent told about the enormity of the show??? That's just gossip, of course they were aware they were playing in front of 100 000 people! And they were happy for it. i cant wait to see any tv footage of this show....... Wait a little more, I have some .mov files but they lose quality when I convert them. ive seen some stuff on some serbian sites but i cant read the language..... I am a translator. Ask me. Also, be aware that we went from a very strict media-related law to a completely lawless state where everyone is gossiping and making up stuff, so journalists will keep on saying what comes to their minds out of blue. it might seem to be more of a coldplay performance than a RHCP one but im curious to see how rowdy 100 000 can possibly get.......was that why they never went back to moscow after playing to 200 000....i have video of that show and you can barely hear the band over the crowd 100 000 is a huge mass you can't control easily. I figured out that there was no way in hell they'd be taking the cameras away (although it was stated 1000000000 times that cameras won't be allowed), as it would be pretty hard to give them back to people after such an event. personally i think this has been blown up much more than it deserves to be.......nothing next to guns n roses shows.......ill be sure to put this on the stadium arcadium tour page on wikipedia What are you refering to, actually? supersonic........did you have a genuinely good time??? Yes, of course. We all did and these people who wanted the 8th world wonder should probably shut up.

Most people are only worried about John. And we are allowed to voice criticism, that does not mean we don't respect him. But I also think he should respect the audience. He shouldn't get pissed off when some minor things go wrong, nobody cares about that anyway. All we want is John in a good mood. I didn't like it when in Nijmegen he started to change guitars in the middle of his solo. I don't hear the difference anyway, but I do care about a beautiful moment being interrupted for some stupid tech detail.
