The record store John was talking about is Synaesthesia Records. It's an experimental/progressive music store in the city. www.synrecords.com/Thanks for this Ken - it is such a shame that another store is closing. I hadn't heard anything about it - v. sad.

My Review:
Well, at least it wasn't as bad as the Telstra Dome gig!
It's not fun being 170ish cm tall standing near the bottom of the hill at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl, as I learnt on Sunday night. My view of the Red Hot Chili Peppers' show obscured for much of the evening, which didn't bother me for the joke of a support act that was Har Mar Superstar; an overweight, balding man who decided he was 'sexy' and ripped off all of his clothing down to his underwear by the second-last song, leaving the crowd stunned and probably somewhat disgusted (and some scarred for life).
It came time for the main act and there was a sudden surge forward, and after the first song I was already shifted about 5 metres to my left. The crowd did dull down a lot towards the end, as the Peppers explored most of the tunes from Stadium Arcadium and some of the gems from Californication, but only one song from the recordings preceeding the 1999 album.
I gained somewhat of a clear view for the last four or so songs, so it wasn't all bad. All in all, unimpressed with the venue. The sound was too quiet (I didn't even have a ringing of the ears!), all the tall people stood at the front (use a bit of logic, please!); at least it wasn't raining, I suppose.
Anthony is obviously still recovering from his sickness, as he wasn't at his peak, and complained of having "Just woke up" at one stage. He only performed a one-song encore before leaving the stage whilst Chad, John, Flea and Josh continued with a 15-20 minute jam to finish the night.
The experience is still amazing, I just figured it could have been improved by a better venue, a better setlist and a better support act.
In the end, RHCP still rocks, and I do hope they tour again; but looking at the way Anthony is at the moment, it may just be a hope?

Just got home... omg I am so tired after last night and flying back this morning and now this tonight. It was great though - such a lovely atmosphere outdoors and they were so into it!! Totally different crowd to Adelaide (and I totally expected that) I was in the seats at Row V - awesome!!! On Tuesday I have row H so I am so excited because I thought tonight was close. I don't know if the people in general admin saw much - there seemed to be a lot of noise from up there so I hope they enjoyed it!! Ok - now IMO Ant still seemed sick or something. He was spitting up a whole lot into a bin and when he came on stage he mentioned that he had just woken up. His voice was awesome but his eyes looked so tired... anyone else feel the same? Ok from what I can remember for the setlist (these are a bit out of order) and I have missed a few - Cant Stop Dani California Scar Tissue Charlie Parallel Universe This Velvet Glove Snow Songbird - John *melts* Warlocks C'mon Girl (I WAS SO HAPPY THEY PLAYED THIS!!) Get on Top Hump De Bump Californication By the way --------------- Flea trumpet jam Give it away Outro jam They sure changed the set list a lot from Sunday night to tonight I am SPEWING they did not play Cmon Girl on Tuesday night

;D I absolutely loved this show, the set list was amazing to me with This velvet glove, get on top, and specially C'mon Girl, which they didn't play in Melbourne. Somebody who was a little closer than me told me that AK's eyes looked like he was under a lot of medication. And we're just hoping he makes it till the end of the tour. I am a lot shorter than Josh and the view really sucked because I was in the GA area, I'm 1 60 and there were a lot of drunk people around us, but I enjoyed the show anyways ;D. I am starting to dig the Har Marsh Superstar dude, we were really looking forward the crowd reaction after we saw him in Adelaide. Great ;D

AK looks like a porn star with that tache.
Aussies, did he seem so tired in other shows?
I'd love to hear This Velvet Glove live. I was under the impression that they never performed it but I guess I was wrong. I've just never been lucky enough to see it! Let's try YouTube....
