Could they change the setlists? Yes, they could. Now, I don't care about the songs they played yesterday, or will play tomorrow. I won't be there. I'm so glad I ditched that gig. Although I wouldn't have minded seeing the Mars Volta, the setlist is a f**king exact carbon copy of pretty much every show they've done in europe. At least Coldplay respected their fanbase enough to shake things up a little when they crossed the Atlantic... I find it fucking stupid to ditch a gig just because you'll get what they've done in another continent. Exactly...and mean, people go through various crap to make it to a show, and mr. caligo is walking out of it...pfft.

so what!? its pretty rude from them to take easy money, on playing same songs for years! why dont they play old songs, why dont they play songs wich are not singles? why do they play only hits!? other songs are way better than those wich are on concert. I say give a break to scar tissue for expample put road trippin some times, give a break to a right on time, put easily or get on top! put more bssm songs, give a break to charlie play other songs from SA thats what I want! more suffled setlist every night!

Yeah then just keep complaining about shows that you never go to anyway. It has a certain value of entertainment for sure.

It has a certain value of entertainment for sure. for your information I have all those shows in audio or video recording, so I have reason for complaining I don't think they develop the setlists with the desires of bootleg collectors in mind. At least they vary thet setlist from show to show some acts don't do that. A recording of a live performance is NOT the same as being there. The energy and excitemnet of the crowd in addition to the band's performance is what makes a concert performance memorable. Probably 99% or more of the audience at each will only attend that one show so what do they know about the repetitive nature of each setlist anyway. They have to try and please the majority of the crowd and I'm sure that goes into the thought process when developing the setlist. It would be great to hear a lot of old songs and ones they don't perform very often IF most of the crowd was into it. Do you realize how much it would suck if most of the audience sat there with blank faces song after song, talking amongst themselves and possibly booing.

Yeah, I was expecting them to play lots of the songs they played, but it was a good time for sure. And audio or video isn't nearly as close as much fun as it is to be there, nor do you get the whole idea of the show.

No, it's fucking stupid not to ditch a gig when it's clearly a waste of money, namely when you've seen them doing the EXACT same things, right down to the wardrobe, they've done ad nauseum for the last two-three years. Even their 'jams' don't change, save the occasional special exceptions like the extended encore in Berlin. Christ, nine albums worth of music (10 if you consider the length of Stadium Arcadium) and not a shred of originality on the stage. I do confess I regret missing the Mars Volta though. At least they can shake things up a bit. And in reference to another reply, Coldplay could be the worst thing to ever perform music for all I care (we're talking sub-Celine Dion levels here), they're at least keeping some things fresh and they're respecting their fans when they perform, and they're able to do it with a fraction of the avaliable music the Peppers have avaliable to work with in a live set. That's far more than what the Peppers can say for themselves since By The Way was released. Fail.

I agree ^ I'm sure if they put some of the older/not so popular songs on a few people won't know what it is
