According to local radio stations, the Peppers are toying with the idea of playing Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday September 23rd at the Pimlico Racetrack (which is the site for the famous Preakness horse race). They were rumored to be playing there a month ago but rumors are heating up even more now. The Peppers have yet to schedule a MD/DC date. This would be in the middle of their Canadian tour but they have off 9/21-9/24 so it is possible for them to get down here and get back for the 9/25 show in Toronto. This is odd since the venue is outdoors and the band is doing all the North American/Canada SA shows inside arenas and their stage setup with the video screens is suited for indoors.
Gnarls Barkley is actually scheduled to play that date at Pimlico. RHCP/Gnarls/Mars Volta=AWESOME! I just want to see the Peppers again!!

Nothing is confirmed. Neither band has been mentioned as playing together though local stations have said the Peppers are toying with the idea of playing the racetrack. Gnarls Barkley is 100% confirmed though right now that show has nothing to do with RHCP.

HUGE rumors for this show are now floating around that this will be a huge festival put on by Virgin as the VFest featuring...
Red Hot Chili Peppers Radiohead The Dandy Warhols Gnarls Barkley Mars Volta The Raconteurs Beck Bloc Party
RHCP have been rumored on local radio stations but here is a article on the rumors for the show:
It all started with a mysterious mention on Pitchfork of a Gnarls Barkley date at Pimlico. Yes, that Pimlico. That lead The Upstate Life to do a little research. 2006_0613_pimlico.jpgThe mysterious event, taking place on September 23, will also feature The Raconteurs, and is called V Fest. We're hoping that this is an American version of the UK's Virgin-sponsored annual event, which this year will feature acts like Radiohead, Beck, The Dandy Warhols, Bloc Party and more. While this probably doesn't mean that Radiohead is playing close to home, it could mean that a very cool festival is coming our way. I for one would pay top dollar to see Gnarls and the Raconteurs all by their lonesome (and by top dollar I mean, of course, $18 or $19 bucks). If you've got any more information about who else may be on this lineup, let us know. And, big thanks to TUL for all that sleuthy goodness. You're the Veronica Mars of local tour news."
