I recently got to listen to a full version of this song, with Hillel's intro still in tact. It was really interesting. Anyone else heard this full song?
Hi
What this song is about is it's about this
"da da" which is like an underrated and overexploited art form in the early part of the century
And what it's about is is like
Well the name of the song is "Da Da is Not Dead"
Well what it's about it's about these people like seeing these local shows
with like these black clothes and like these hippie hairstyles
they're like these intellectual types
like, you know like brown glasses kinda like mine
They talk about "da da"
cuz you know, it seems kinda cool to them
and like if they talk about it they'll seem cooler, and maybe they'll get laid
That's what it's all about -- getting laid
Well I mean, no no no no, ok wrong
The song's not about getting laid
The song's about these people, y'know, who like read book reviews, instead of books
And they say words like, you know...
"Kafka".....
"Postmodern"....
"Esoteric".....
And they don't really know what the fuck the words mean, you know, and that really pisses me off
So that's what this song is really about
But I didn't think of that I just sorta snapped some lyrics together and..
talked about "da da" to further my own opinion for anybody
And that's what it's really all about
I could go on talking forever, but the band needs me to cue them to do the next part, so...
y'know, I should probably go and do it, right now...
DA DA IS NOT
D...D...DEAD
Da da is not dead
It got pushed underground, now
Da da is not dead
It got pushed round and a-round now
Da da is not dead
It couldn't live on in peace
Da da is not dead
Just learn to play the blues
DA DA IS NOT
D...D...
D....
Dead, and thank you very much
Da da is not dead
How could it ever last, now
Da da is not dead
I'd rather live in the past, now
Da da is not dead
It got pushed underground
Da da is not dead
It got pushed round and around now,
Round round round round around, baby
Under
