To me, I noticed that there has been some poor moderation. To keep it brief, I'll post points instead.

* I've noticed some favoritism towards members/topics on the board. To me, mods should be unbiased.

* There has been threads that's been locked with no reply from the moderator saying 'Why?'.


I understand why for a moderator(s) it can be hard to be unbiased towards members/topics as you get attached to them. For a mod it could understandably feel uncomfortable giving a member who you made good friends with a warning.

That's why I came up with this idea. I was thinking if a mod starts up a new Admins account that all the moderators can access. If a thread gets out of hand with insults and needs to be locked, then a mod can use that Admin account, lock the thread leaving an explanation why. You don't have to leave your name at the bottom of the post, you can just leave 'Admin' at the bottom if you like. You can stay anonymous and no one will know who the mod is.

That is just one example of when the Admin account can be used. It can't be used for regular posting.

Has anyone got any other suggestions, ideas or issues to make about the moderation they like to bring up? All opinions welcome?

And mods, if you disagree with what I said then please just say.

I think I'd know which mod closed it just by the way it was explained anyway. It's not hard to tell who is who.

Yes, but that's why I think mods should change their posting style when using the Admins account. You know, make the post sound unbiased and just straight to the point.

i haven't really noticed any bias receantly. Everyones been getting on fine.

This is a very valid idea and could be useful.

Perhaps there would be a set way of saying something, or just a quoting of the forum rules for reasoning. The "posting style" can be easily avoided.

Also I think there aren't many moderators present at the forum anywhere near often enough, especially the global mods. To me, moderators should be people that extensively use the forum and are generally here at least twice a week or something, because at the moment there's just a lack of people around; I'm aware that's why the individual board mods were created, to help out the global mods who aren't here too often, but now it seems those mods have disappeared aswell.

Perhaps we need to keep on rotation with mods?? I don't know. But as a member of this forum I find it a bit odd that the moderators are very rarely sighted.

I'm fairly certain that all the mods are global mods now. However you are quite right that some are hardly ever present, if at all.

Yes, Hillary, Wade and me are global mods. You often can´t see the mods online cos they´re hiding their online status. We´re around more than you think.

I have no authority here and my presence means nothing.

I think the mods should be visible. For a long time it seemed as if you were the only mod who was ever here for more than a few minutes here and there. So that gets people thinking that the others are never around if they can't see them.

I say they're doing a shoddy job.
