Apparently there were a couple of threads in Spanish that weren't deleted. It is a violation of Proboards Terms of Service to post in any language other than English. So it was all deleted.

I think I read it somewhere.. about fighting, or perhaps it was implied but never mind. I do remember people insisting on speaking in other tongues on the old board... damn them!! But its not their fault. I myself didnt know the english-only rule was set by proboards and not the mods here - how would anyone know the seriousness of the situation?? But its unbelievably shitty how they can just delete the existence of a community without even giving fair warning. It just shows... nothing is real these days - this IS a virtual community and not an actual one, therefore the 'Gods' (ie proboards) can wipe us out. Anyway thanks guys for answering

It just goes to show that people won't take a mod's word seriously. It shouldn't take someone from Proboards to take action to get a message across. People need to listen to the mods, and if they can't respect that, then they can leave. I'm not targetting you Mon, but it's a perfect example.

But anyway deleting whole board just cos some people were talking on their native language is really STUPID REASON! How can that be reason for deleting I really cant understand and noone can make me understand that! And Ken this has nothing to do with the listening the mods!I dont see anyone here who isnt respecting mods words! I am just wondering for who this forum is created? FOR US MEMBERS USERS OR FOR SOMEONE ELSE? Cos if is for us members that you people(who delete the old forum) should respect us more and dont do that what you did when you delete whole forum without even warning us and the mods! That was very Unfair thing to do!

The reasons were:
Speaking in Spanish or any other language is prohibited because they need to monitor what is being said on the forum. Remember that this is provided for us and not really the property of the mods. They can do whatever the fuck they want. When starting a ProBoard, there is most likely a disclaimer or something you have to say you have read. Basically, when whoever started the forum clicked on that button, they gave permission to ProBoards to terminate any forum they feel breaks the rules.
So while we may not have known about it, the mods sure as hell did.

Its ok I've never typed in another language here anyway Yes I think people should trust the mods, but its very easy to ignore rules if you do not see the point of them - or the implications. If more people were aware that of they broke 'certain' rules they could risk deletion of the entire board they would perhaps think twice about it. Maybe those ones should be flagged up in the rules section? thanks

Maybe those ones should be flagged up in the rules section? Once again, that's my point. There shouldn't have to be extra special rules, because all the rules are up there for a reason. None of them should be ignored, regardless of how 'stupid' you think they are. If people don't like the in-house rules, they can leave, just like they would at any pub or restaurant. Besides, it's not just Proboards who don't want foreign languages. Have you ever tried to moderate a post entirely in Spanish? If you start speaking gobbledigook, how am I to know what you are saying? The moral of the story is read the rules, follow the rules, and play nice. There is absolutely nothing more to it.
