My first RHCP show. The first one is always very special... ;D I was so very excited about this show and I couldn't believe I was finally gonna see them live after all the years of waiting. Unfortunately I was on Corsica when tickets went on sale so I only managed to get seats. First- and last time- I had to endure that. Despite being further away from the stage than I wanted to be it was a fantastic experience. I was really happy to hear Havana Affair, it made me feel even so much better than I was already feeling. First show and I noticed that even if you don't really like a song in the studio version it can really catch you live. Throw Away Your Television was quite nice for me back then. It wasn't that overplayed already back then. It didn't even have the Don't You Ever Leave outro yet. Warm Tape was also a very special song in this show. It was great, warming song in the late winter of 2003. Very special atmoshphere in this song. Even if some idiot ran on stage exactly in that one and Flea tried to kick him cos it was slightly breaking this very special vibe of the song. The big highlight of this show was definately Search and Destroy with the long outro jam. That was fucking spectecular. One of the best songs I ever heard in a RHCP show. I wish they would start playing that one again.
So I was left with the huge desire to see them again......

.... and two days after the Dortmund show I ordered 2 tickets for my second RHCP concert- this time it would be in Duisburg. This one is still a very, very special show to me that I love to remember. Not really because of the show itself, but because of Roni who was with me at the show. I won't start writing the whole story again, but some long time OHG members will remember that stuff anyway... ;D To make it short, I invited her to show and she came over from Israel and we had a really good time together. In the first half of the show I was getting slightly annoyed that I already had heard all of the first nine songs in Dortmund, but then they played some wwonderful songs which I really, really loved to hear. Soul to Squeeze, Sir Psycho, Purple Stain... A great show in a great venue. People who stood in the back of the audience complained a lot about the venue after the show because they didn't hear and see much but we were in the front and sound and view was fantastic. The venue was located in some old steel factory which was decorated with some odd neon lights. It looked pretty surreal but I really liked the special atmosphere of this place. Roni asked me if I was sure this place was just an abandoned factory or if it was used for other purposes... A day later Flea wrote something very similiar in a Fleamail post which was pretty funny. Great, great show and great memories.

This was one odd show. It was the first festival I've been to and I didn't really like it too much. Being piled up with thousands and thousands of people for 4 days, almost swimming away in the rain, camping in the mud and freezing temperatures at night on the first weekend of June. But yeah it was my only chance to see the Peppers in 2004 so I went to see it. The show itself was also quite special- it was the first show of the tour so I didn't know what to expect. But I sure expected them to start off with By the Way, Scar Tissue, Around the World again... And they started with Can't Stop and Emit Remmus. I think I never heard so many unexpected songs in a Chili Peppers concert. First time ever they played Get on Top, that was fantastic. They also played My Lovely Man which I was dying to hear. But the crowd surfers in that very song were such a pest, as I must say the audience was terrible in this show anyway. There were way too many people getting squished up in the front. Yet a show that I love to remember. Before Mini Epic Flea said "Fuck George Bush" and the entire crowd kept chanting it on and on. That was a great moment. But the best moment of the show was the outro jam after Give it Away. That very jam left me so high for hours. I was sitting in the rain till 6am and I was just so high.

After almost 2 years without Chili Willy I was so lucky to get into this TV performance. It was the first time I met Henrik, who I've been hanging out with at almost every show since then. It was a great experience and quite surreal. It isn't a really concert but I needed to list it here anyway. You all know the stuff that was going on at this even cos it's all online, so I don't need to write too much about it. It was a great day.

First show of my little personal summer of 2006 RHCP tour with 3 shows in 8 days. Unlike Rock am Ring I really, really liked Pinkpop. No, actually I loved it. It was so much more comfortable and nice and smaller and relaxed. The only thing I wasn't quite happy with at Pinkpop is that all concerts were over at 11pm each day. The Peppers were in a great mood that in night and quite chatty. Talking about weed on the chicken stand and such nice things. It was really fun. I loved to hear Me & My Friends and Wet Sand. John's solo was really great. Yet again another fantastic endjam.
